Description:

Canasta is a renowned card game enjoyed worldwide, with various regional adaptations. It shares similarities with other classic games such as Buraco and Gin Rummy, providing a familiar experience for card game enthusiasts. The game offers three variations—team, solo, and speed—alongside customizable rules and extensive statistics tracking, appealing to a diverse range of players.

Typically, Canasta is played using two standard 52-card decks supplemented by four jokers, totaling 108 cards. Each player receives a hand of cards while a face-down stock pile and a face-up discard pile are placed in the center of the table. The game commences with the player to the left of the dealer taking the first turn, and play subsequently rotates clockwise. A turn encompasses drawing a card from the stock pile and discarding one card to the discard pile.

Players may also meld cards during their turn, which involves placing sets of cards face up on the table. A meld consists of at least three cards, remaining visible until the end of play. The culmination of melded cards containing seven cards is termed a canasta. If this meld comprises only natural cards, it is referred to as a natural or pure canasta; if it includes wild cards, it is classified as a mixed or dirty canasta.

The gameplay concludes when one player goes out, which can only occur if their team has successfully melded at least one canasta. Upon fulfilling this condition, players can either meld all remaining cards or meld all but one and discard their last card on the same turn.

Various game formats include:
<ul>
 <li>Team Play: A four-player format where players form two teams. Total scores are calculated based on both partners’ points accumulated at the end of each round.</li>
 <li>Solo: A two-player format without teams, where individual scores are tallied at round's conclusion.</li>
</ul>

Customization options further enhance gameplay, allowing players to adjust:
<ul>
 <li>Number of cards dealt: 11 to 15</li>
 <li>Canastas required for going out: 1 or 2</li>
 <li>Number of cards drawn: 1 or 2</li>
 <li>Final score target: 5,000 or 10,000 points</li>
 <li>Joker Canasta rule: Optional</li>
 <li>Pile frozen rule: Choose yes or no</li>
 <li>Ability to place the top discard onto a canasta: Optionally enabled</li>
</ul>
